Twelve quarter-note positions form three measures of 4/4. Choose deliberate composition, auto-harmonization after source edits, or a fully model-generated source line. Locks and provenance remain controlling in every mode.

Interaction law: source provenance is explicit per Soprano event: VISITOR_SOURCE or MODEL_GENERATED_SOURCE. The current source line remains fixed during lower-voice regeneration. A locked generated event remains exactly fixed. A visitor lower-voice pitch edit is automatically locked and receives VISITOR_EDITED_STUDY provenance. Regeneration may replace only unlocked A/T/B events. AUTO HARMONIZE never changes the source line; SURPRISE ME may generate it and labels it accordingly.

Theorem before analogy
Gödel’s incompleteness theorems concern sufficiently expressive formal arithmetic systems under stated assumptions. This musical diagnostic system is not such a system, and Gödel does not prove that computers cannot compose music.
A declared rule machine can report whether a study satisfies its own checks. That remains different from a claim that the study understands, means, or convinces.
Analogy only: use the mirror to distinguish statements available inside a declared rule system from broader musical judgments made outside it.
